Therapy - Round 3
Very admittedly, I was keen to get back in to the hospital and continue clearing this stuff out of my lymphatic system. I realised that the recovery period was way better in week 2 and didn’t really fear the side-effects that were on display after week 2.
Obviously, there are moments of diddling on the iPad and going down a few rabbit holes on Google to pass time, but chatting with some of the other patients on the ward was refreshing. Seeing how some were adjusting to their diagnosis and gaining something from it, both positive and negative. There are truly sad stories on the ward but also some enlightening ones along with some great attitudes. I witnessed an older gentleman, a former fireman, 81 years old and very sprightly in step and mind, doing pushups against the wall in the ward corridor. Now, that can inspire a mood to get cracking by doing something similar. It didn’t have to overly strenuous, but some pushups and squats, even a token 10 here and would give me piece of mind that I'm doing my part.
I was never much of an acoustic guitar player, but had plenty of time to practice, before, during and after treatments and was given free reign to do so by the staff on the ward. The walls are so thick, your neighbour next door couldn't hear a thing. It was nice to have time and learn new things on the guitar again.
After being released home for the third time, I spent alot more time doing numerous walks per day, stopping at the fence of a moor which water buffalo call home. I would spend alot of time trying to copy the very slow reactions and attitude these big beauts had. Everything was... slow. If I gave myself time to slow down, I would realise how much I don't normally pay attention to the outside world. It would take me time to settle into, but it was just a case of copying these oh-so-chilled giant herbivores. (next - Round 4)

.... and hospital shenanigans...
